You have to atleast make them free for like a month. Then a lot of members will come in.

yes, they will be free during beta so that we can test that the trousers arn't covering your head or something like that. But afterwoods the items will be taken away because they were only for testing, or something like that. note: beta party items will still be there Tounge

if everything is free, i will only be able to keep the game server running for 1 or 2 months, then they will close because there is no money to keep the online.

You guys don't understand though if there were no paying members Crocodile swamp wouldnt be able to pay for web space and a domain and the servers and all that good stuff. Including paying the staff and if the staff members don't get payed that means they don't make stuff because they left to find another job Razz

Remember Club Penguin Chat? It was the first verion of CP made by RocketSnail
(Rsnail) but it was shut down because of the lack of funding, so that's why you need to pay for a game like this.

Well now I know that im certainly not bothering with membership! we are getting a free item every 1 or 2 months, and now non-members are getting their own catalogue... who needs membership???

i just said that i wont bother with membership, and I think that will be the same for most people. We can't have 2 catalogues, or people will say "I can manage with 30 items a year" or something like that. Non-members on CP are happy with 18 items a year (about), so now their getting a catalogue, no one will bother with membership, and we will close because of:
